As we approach the completion date for our second property rebuild in La Fortune, St. Patrick, there is a mixture relief, excitement and trepidation in the air.
CIEL's four apprentices have worked tirelessly to build a huricane-resilient home from its very foundations which is no small feat given that few of the young men had any prior construction experience before starting this project.
Seeing the structure take shape has been a rewarding experience for everyone involved, symbolizing not just the restoration of a house but the revival of hope for the families affected.
With the finish line in sight, we're seizing the opportunity to select the next three properties that our apprentices will tackle.

These homes, like many others in the area, have suffered not only from the hurricane's impact but also from poor workmanship in their original construction. Identifying these properties allows us to address immediate needs while planning for a more resilient future.
The condition of these houses perfectly illustrates why our apprenticeship program is so vital. By training the next generation of skilled tradespeople in Grenada, we're tackling the problem of substandard construction at its root.

Our apprentices are learning essential skills and best practices, ensuring that the homes they rebuild are stronger, safer, and more resistant to future storms. This hands-on experience empowers them to make lasting changes in their communities.

We're eager to continue this important work and watch our apprentices grow into confident, capable builders. Each rebuilt home is a step toward a stronger, more resilient La Fortune.
